  BOOK DESCRIPTION

Thrilling action, constant adventures, unexpected twists, accompanied by inspiring and explosive humor, are just a fraction of the things that you will encounter while reading this book. Double the action and triple the excitement is something you could expect at any point.

Two men, with one desire, in a city you must figure out to survive, they sold a new drug, and the government wanted in… All for the wrong reasons… You know, reasons that might cost millions of lives.

Both emigrants, both smart and funny, Leo and Capone are an awesome duo, capable of almost everything… The first one with a mob background and chemistry education, the second with mad computer skills and mafia blood, all they wanted was to sell drugs, like everybody else. Unfortunately, their drug wasn’t like the rest. Their drug was the missing link. What follows might even change the course of history. An unexpected twist will change them forever…

Part II of the trilogy will feature even more adventures and action, if that is possible. The humor is deadly, as are the characters who use it. The missing woman touch in Part I will reveal an unknown side of the gangsters. And if that is not enough, you should see the end. It’s explosive!

  FROM THE AUTHOR

I had a lot of fun writing this trilogy. Every time I read it, I burst into laughter at some lines written by me a long time ago, because, aside from the other two, I didn’t write this one in a week, but from time to time for the last 17 years. Yes, that’s right, I started writing this book back in ’99. I did change this and that over the years, especially the year in which the action in it was, but in general, I kept it genuine. Basically, I started when I was only 15 years old. Who would have guessed that it would see the light one day? There is a lot of history and hidden interpretations in this unique book, so read carefully. My future books, though, won’t have much of that same element, because they will be written way faster. They will have other hidden mysteries to compensate, though! Enjoy… and don’t miss the other two sequels. Lots of new characters will emerge, including some strong women. It gets really wild. Time traveling has never been so much fun…

If you enjoyed this book or received value from it in any way, than I’d like to ask you for a favor: would you be kind enough to leave a review for this book on Amazon? It’d be greatly appreciated!

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

  FROM THE AUTHOR

  Chapter I

“… Hang on, I’m running the counter...”

“Are you sure 1929 is not too early?”

  “An entirely appropriate time.”

“Appropriate for what? You are up to something,” inquired Leo.

“The Commission of Luciano has not yet been formed. Although Joe Masseria is the Boss of Bosses, New York is not yet fully controlled by him or the other large families. There are small organizations that continue to make money. We can be one of them. The goal is to settle somewhere, to make some bucks and form a small team, which we will need for the second part of my plan.

We should not be conspicuous because it can lead to significant changes in the timeline. We can’t allow that to happen so we will have to act in small proportions. At some point, we will hit the second largest diamond mine in South America!”

“How such things come to your mind I’ll never know. And what is this mine?”

“It’s located in Guyana, which borders Brazil and Venezuela. Diamonds were discovered there for the first time in the 80s of the 19th century. In the beginning, it was only a small quantity, but in 1920, rich deposits in the Mazaruni and Puruni rivers were discovered. Until the Great Depression in 1929, their peak when mined was over 200,000 karats a year. Although entirely covered by forests, particularly routed roads lead to the capital of Georgetown, where the diamonds are transported. However, many of the miners are selling theirs to small buyers in Barlow, situated next to the rivers I told you about. We will hit them there, take everything and move out quietly. Then we will hire someone to process them, and we are going home with 100-200 million in diamonds. How does that sound?”

Leo shook his head, indicating that he was pleased.

The two thugs came out of the machine in the middle of a forest...

“Where did you teleport us this time?”

“Marine Park in southern Brooklyn, baby! There must be a path nearby...”

They found the road and, after a short walk, they reached a small petrol station.

  “There is God!” grinned Galfonino.

“Look around if you can arrange a vehicle, and I will shop quickly.”

Leo entered the little shop and went directly to the refrigerator filled with Coca-Colas. Outside was hellish heat, and he was wearing a wool suit outdated in more than fifty years. The seller looked like he had seen Elvis, although he had not been born at that time. Leo opened one bottle and drank it in a single gulp. He shook his head, belched, pulled some more cokes and headed to the seller.

“Good morning mister! Can I help you with something?” asked the owner and put his hand on the gun.

“Very kind of you,” said Cassis. “I know it’s prohibition, but don’t you have any hidden beer in the warehouse? And give me everything you got at the cash desk!”

After the last word, Leo raised his finger in the air as a sign that he had forgotten something. He turned to stand with sweets and drew a candy bar. The shopkeeper was shocked, and couldn’t make a decision for a few seconds. He didn’t know whether this quiet stranger was joking or was serious about the money. The owner decided not to risk. He drew the revolver and pointed it at the Sock’s head at no more than five inches.

“Scam like you comes every day, maybe I have to kill someone for you to start taking me seriously!”

The Sock finished his chocolate bar, “It is not bad. I haven’t eaten chocolate for a long time.”

Then he looked at the seller, looked at the gun and spoke again, “Heh heh heh, you didn’t have to...”

  “Have to what?”

The gangster reached out and took the gun from the hands of the trembling owner.

“Overdo with the servicing,” added smiling Leo. “I will not forget how polite you were. Now hand over the money from the cash register, please.”

The man pulled all thirty dollars and gave them. The Sock stared at them blankly, made a strange face and s
wung over the register to check with his own eyes.

“Hah, it is empty for real.”

“Sir, this is my weekly profit. I assure you this is all I got...”

“Pfff!” Leo returned ten bucks to the seller and left.

Outside, Galfonino was leaning on the hood of the biggest wreck that can be imagined by a person without any imagination. The coach of the mayor from 50 years ago was probably more luxurious.

“Fuck, are we going to advertise Corny bars?”

“Relax, the engine is still good! And if you don’t like it, you can walk to Central Brooklyn...”

Leo gave him a coke, climbed into the car and drove away. The speedometer showed almost 40 km/h, but judging by the emitted sound, they should have flown out. From the endless smokescreen behind the car, a person could tell where they came from.

“Wake me up when we get there. As far as we get...”

In less than an hour, they were already driving in central Brooklyn streets. In the suburban part of the neighborhood, Flatbush sold the car in an Automorgue and headed to the nearest costumes store. They chose the two most expensive and certainly did not pay for them. They also took another hundred bucks from the owner. The gangsters found a cozy little hotel and took the "presidential suite" for a month.

This part of the neighborhood was not held by any of the big families. There were only petty thugs dealing with gambling and racketeering. Among them were also some pimps and several places for illegal gambling with an attractive income.

Of course, this information had to be confirmed as Leo took it from some kid in the street against a dollar. It turned out, however, that the auto morgue and two of the "casinos" were controlled by a local, better-organized thug.

It was almost noon, and both gangsters were hungry from the morning walk. Both sat in the restaurant next to their hotel and ordered lunch for six. While they were eating at a table outside in fresh air and talked about their next move, two men chasing a third suddenly appeared from the corner. They overtook him in close proximity to Leo’s table. Knocking him to the ground, they started to kick him hard. One of the thugs, while taking a step back to accelerate better, bumped Galfonino’s chair inadvertently and continued to hit the young man on the ground without saying anything.

Capone got nervous, strengthened and brought down the two thugs with one punch in the teeth. He searched them, took their guns and showed them the way back. Then he sat quietly and continued to eat.

Leo gestured to the boy who had taken the beating to sit with them. He was no more than 21 years old but was tall and sturdy in the hands. The gangster called the waiter and ordered a whiskey.

“Why were those whelps chasing you?” began Cassis.

“They owe me money,” smiled the stranger.

“You have an interesting approach. The one who has to take is running?” wondered Galfo.

“It’s a long story. In short, we had dealings together, but my brother got sick a few days ago, and I asked for my share, to buy some drugs. Hearing this, they decided they could go without paying us. I threatened them, but my bluff didn’t work and so...”

“How much did they owe you?”

“Not much, twenty dollars. But I needed it for medicines and food.”

“Otherwise, what exactly do you do?”

  Here the boy looked troubled…

“Don’t worry!” assured him, Capone. “You are among friends.”

  “Mostly theft...”

Leo visibly started thinking. He reached into his pocket and pulled fifty dollars.

“Buy medicines for your brother and some more decent clothes. My name is Leo. If you are looking for a permanent job, My partner, Capone and I are recruiting people. Take care of your brother and call me tomorrow at 8:00 in the hotel across the street with an answer. What is your name?”

“Danielo Peruzzi, sir. Thank you for everything.”

  “Don’t worry.”

“And call me boss,” said Galfo with a full mouth.

The boy got up, thanked again and left.

“Isn’t the money running out?” the Italian asked with interest.

“I’m glad you can think. For it is time to visit this Ogustas.”

  “Who’s that?”

“He is dealing with gambling illegally in his house but is a freelancer. As far as I understood, he is paying those in the morgue for protection, so nobody touches him. I guess it’s time to start paying to the right people...” snarled Leo.

  “Oh, you dog,” grinned Galfo.

  Chapter II

The news spread quickly in this part of Brooklyn and the word of how Galfonino beat the two thugs spread like wildfire.

Both gangsters left the restaurant and walked to Ogustas’s house, “Maybe his father hated him enough to give him such a name” thought Capone along the way.

Soon they arrived at the house that turned into a casino and a paradise for alcohol lovers at night. Weekly earnings were reaching a thousand dollars.

The two buddies had conspired in advance who would speak and how. Leo would be diplomatic while Galfo would wave the gun.

There was a knock on the door and Ogustas cautiously opened. He wasn’t tall but slightly fat with a thick neck. Typical phiz for every century. He stared uniquely lighting a cigarette and slightly raised shoulders, “May I help you?”

“Is that how you welcome guests? We are here on business. We have a proposal for you,” answered Leo and took a step toward the fatty. “I suggest we talk details inside, in quiet.”

The thug thought for a moment, his eyes narrowed as he was exploring both against him.

“I’m not interested in your offer.”

Leo continued to insist, “I guess that mind reading is in vogue now. But you should be more diplomatic and listen to what we have to say.”

With a thick feeling about where the things were going, he decided to show strength.

“Lazo, some guys are trying to create problems!”

Lazo was Ogustas’s personal guard. Tall near 2.10 meters and weighing 170 kg, his bulletproof vest looked like a small t-shirt. On his belt twirled a revolver, and in his hands, he held a sawed-off shotgun, which ostentatiously loaded. The monster approached, his boss shifted, slightly tilted not to lean on the door with his big head as he stood in front of Leo, who was standing with his hands in his pockets, staring up at him as if the giant had stolen his lollipop.

“Is there a problem, shit-sticks?” the giant gently bent, and his face was very close to that of Cassis’s.

The Sock rubbed his eyes slightly to remove the saliva that came from the guard’s mouth, then waved in the air with his arm around his nose, “Speaking of shit, when was the last time you brushed your teeth?”

Two hundred and ten centimeter gorilla got furious and lashed out with the butt of the shotgun towards the head of Cassis. Leo responded quickly and ducked to avoid the hit. Then he applied a straight right into the giant’s groin. Lazo crouched, and Smith played a mavashi geri kick in his head, cradling him to the ground. Galfonino pulled out his gun and pointed it at Ogustas.

The Sock started to pace nervously from side to side, while the fat man was looking frightened.

“What’s going on with him?” asked the owner.

“He went out of his comfort zone. And this happens very rarely. In this condition, he usually has to kill two or three before he can calm down!” the Italian informed him.

The pig felt that he could soon be swimming with the fishes, “I’m very sorry, Mr…?”

  “Capone and he is Leo!”

“Mr. Leo, please don’t kill me, we will make the deal you wanted. Please,” cried the thick.

They took the unconscious guard inside, and Galfonino explained, “We know that you run an illegal casino at night. And if you haven’t understood yet, you are working for us now. You won’t need security. Our man will look after your business and keep sixty percent of the income. If you have problems with anyone, even the police, you
will talk to him.”

The fat man just nodded. And how would he not, he had just saved his skin. And, he thought that he would eventually come up with something.

The Sock approached the guard and gave him several slaps to revive him, “How much is the fat man paying you?”

The big man shook his head, “Fifty dollars a week plus a bonus of two dollars per broken bone.”

“Listen to me carefully, Lazo. From now on, you work for me personally. My name is Leo. You will receive a hundred bucks per week and five dollars per skull. And this is just the beginning!”

  “Okay, boss,” agreed the guard.

“Now you are coming with me and you Ogustas will continue as before. These days, I’ll send my man as we have discussed. If you stay cool, after a month you will be making five times more money.”

“Okay, boss,” also agreed the fatty. “I won’t mislead you.”

“Now give me our share for this week.”

“Of course,” he replied and handed him around five hundred dollars.

On the way out, Galfonino added, “Get a maid to clean the place and buy some new furniture. Freshen up a bit and go for a run from time to time...”

  “Sure, boss.”

The three gangsters left the house and walked down the street. Capone wrote the address and names of the new employees in the black notebook. After all, they had just laid the foundations of their new organization. Leo paid the giant one hundred dollars and thirty for a new suit. The next day, he had to come at exactly 8:00 am to the "Galliano" restaurant, which was next to their hotel.

They sent Lazo and continued walking.

“All that is left is to visit the pimp and to explain to him who works for whom.”

“You’re right. There is no time to rest. This area will soon be ours,” answered Leo. “But do you know what is more important? That fucking Automorgue! There we can hide goods, cars, corpses, and it is suitable for headquarters.”
